Frequently asked questions

Why convert CSV to XLSX instead of just opening it?
Opening a CSV directly in Excel often mangles things: long numbers lose digits, leading zeros vanish, and dates get reinterpreted by region. Converting to a real workbook lets each column keep the right type, so the file opens looking correct rather than needing cleanup.
Does it detect the delimiter automatically?
Yes. It inspects the file and picks the right separator, whether your CSV uses commas, semicolons or tabs. You can override it if a file is unusual, and the preview shows the result before you download.
Will numbers and dates be real values?
Yes. Values that look like numbers or dates are written as typed cells, so you can sum, sort and format them in Excel immediately, rather than getting text that only looks like a number.
Is my file sent to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your file is read and processed on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is logged or stored.
